Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton Records (MS-434)
Paul Katz Papers
The collection consists of materials relating to Katz's long career as a musician, composer, teacher, and conductor. Katz organized the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in 1933 and held the post of Musical Director until he retired in 1975. Papers in this collection include personal correspondence, conductor scores, photographs, clippings, speeches, and articles by Katz. Also included are audio recordings of performances and interviews by Dr. Katz and his wife Phyllis Katz.
Gary Pacernick Papers (MS-582)
This collection contains correspondence, publications, and paperwork documenting the career of Jewish poet and Wright State University English professor Gary Pacernick. Pacernick was one of the early members of Wright State’s English department faculty, serving from 1967 to 2009. Prominent in the collection are letters to Pacernick from poets and writers nationwide and worldwide.
Frank Somers Papers
Frank Somers served as the mayor of Dayton, Ohio from 1962-1965. Before and after his political career, he and his wife were involved in Dayton civic affairs. The papers of Frank Somers cover the political life of Frank Somers approximately from the years 1958 to 1966 as well as family information and world travels.
